They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
There are three principle characteristics of growth that happen when we meet with other believers:
Fellowship: Fellowship means to participate together, or to communicate things we hold in common. Our relationship with God should be the main topic of communication within our small groups as we participate together to fulfill his purpose in the local church.
Progressive sanctification (character development): You will never be more saved than you are at this moment, because salvation is an act of God. But by God’s grace, you will grow in your faith as you cooperate with God’s Spirit in the process of change.
Mutual care & encouragement: Cell groups forge relationships where we can “know and be known.” They provide a safe atmosphere for accountability, prayer, encouragement and discussion.
At CFC we have three kinds of Community Groups: Discipleship Groups, Season of Life Groups, and Similar Need Groups. Click on the links to the left to check them out!
